From Humble Beginnings
Launched in 2011 with Only 5 Trucks
Our business is divided into three main companies: Five Star Logistics, Inc, Five Star Transport Solutions and Frontgate, Inc. Five Star Logistics started out small. When we first opened our doors in 2015, we had only 4 employees working out of cubicles set in the garage of Five Star Transport Solutions. We’ve since expanded into a multi-million dollar company that has over 5,500 trusted carriers in our network with multiple locations in St. Cloud, MN and Maple Plain, MN. With our recent partnership with Mcleod Software, we have continued to make strides in efficiency all while maintaining a customer-first driven approach to transportation. Five Star Transport has acted as the parent company for Five Star Logistics, Inc. Five Star Transport Solutions started in 2011 with five trucks and six drivers that focused on servicing the Twin Cities metro area of MN. By 2014, our operation had grown to 12 trucks and 16 drivers, with an additional location in St. Joseph, MN. By 2022, Five Star Transport and our companies had grown to approximately 40 trucks that service MN and the surrounding states. Frontgate, Inc is our founding company and what has led the way for us to grow into what we are today. Formed in 2004, Frontgate, Inc specializes in line-haul freight lanes for FedEx across MN, WI, IA, and ND. Like our other companies, Frontgate has grown organically overtime. Our president, Sal Gonzalez, started this company with one truck that he drove himself and has branched out extensively from there. Today they operate out of St. Joseph, MN and Rogers, MN. Frontgate’s partnership with FedEx has and always will be a stable part of our group of businesses.
Today we serve our clients for all of their shipping and transportation needs not only in and around the great state of Minnesota, but also the rest of the United States and Canada as well.

We own our own trucks, as that is the most certain way to guarantee every bid we place. Our employees do not work for commissions, thus making our rates among the most competitive in the industry. When we provide a quote, we also provide the trucks to match our price. Additionally, we do not rely on paper ratings!
